Punk rock attitude, buddha monk mental
compassion for humanity but brutalize the tempo
time spent in the temple tempered my temperance
temperature cool soon as I step in the entrance
Sever the connection between me & a hindrance
in hopes of abandoning any hints of my ignorance
We souls on a periless journey
working it out, karma keeps us returning
earning metta maybe, burnin’ bridges and whathaveyou
some subtle, others blatantly look to blast you
Some will see you suffering and look right past you
I’m an outcast who meditate & I fast too
I pass through, ask for alms, do no harm
disrespect disconnect body from arm
hands in gassho, I offer a low bow
it’s all about the present, how you like me now?

I am not this body, I am not this mind
I am not even the being I describe as Sine
My memory records whatever I perceive
and through delusion I’m led think that I believe
but, these thoughts aren’t even mine, they come and they go
like a current carry water just running with flow
from the summit I summon some oneness
to come bless, the whisper of wisdom thunderous
silence is loudest, though my mind is crowded
this moment I feel that I’m peacefully shrouded
the peace I found, it got an aura about it
like a positive energy, stored all around it, (I’m bout it)
like loud & zen quotes I spoke for folks
plus penstrokes that move like dharma wheel spokes
each line an expression of mind
leaving no trace aside from a shadow behind

Nine years at Shaolin, facing a wall
slice off my eyelids I’m not sleeping at all
I’m deeply enthralled with how deep is it all
peepin’ it all, start by steeping a ball
tea in the kettle helps my being to settle
but my ego arises my mettle
