Let’s get open like you feel when you’re feeling completely free
Without a worry in the world, in that moment you let it be
We can call it samadhi or simply being at peace
Every being has a tune that can sooth their savage beast
I smash a beat, or take a seat upon the zafu
Watch the thought in my mind go by like “naw, it’s all cool”
The jewel is found in neither pushing or grasping
Like the flow is never still but it’s never anxious or lagging
Laughing Buddha exudes a lightness, an ambiance
That arises with acceptance of phenomena’s transience
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhh”.....this bliss
When I dismiss wishfulness & dissonance
I rinse the dust of past perceptions away
What I’m left with is a fresh perspective of “hey”
I’m like the jewel mirror reflecting the way
The Right Dharma Eye sees nothing left in my way!


I can’t keep the pen from gliding across the page
like you can’t keep compassion from oozing outta the sage
True nature expresses that we’re essentially free
And all you gotta do is...breathe.

Open like the sea, open like the sky
Open like the mind, open like the eyes
I am open to the moment, be it pleasure or pain
No trace, no stain, walking in gentle rain

This rain washes away whatever I thought of as me
Along with the ideas that I thought of as free
“I” is a vessel so the architect can see
“I” is imaginary, but I’m open enough to be, yeah
Yeah- this isn’t quantum physics
This is just what’s been whispered by the mystics
Like a voice on the breeze
Upon hearing it, Master was enlightened- the word frees
So I am at ease
Even when the mind is troubled, let your heart be at peace
(Peace) we’re all open to the moment
What matters is if we’re aware enough to know it
The poet is open to the flow of the pen
I remain open to the flow of the moment and then...
If I’m a failure then I’m open to just go it again
My eyes remain open like I’m lotus in zen

Mindset of a monk, the body breathes deep
The spirit needs a challenge like the body needs sleep
Steep is the path that leads to the peak
Just leap & you’ll see, breathing is the reason I speak
They say seek and you’ll find, how the seeker found truth
It’s the unspeakable Way, in the words of Lau Tzu
How true, How fluent, the moment just flows open
You might need to open your mind to see that your soul’s open
Go focused, opening the heart requires balance
But once you see the key it opens the door to the palace
The galaxy outside is within let me remind you:
You’re searching for God as if he didn’t already find you!
